A very dedicated man who loved the game of league, he was very proud to be a part of the sport and used his position within the game to help the ill and injured. Full of life and a joy to have known.

Played his junior footy with St Monicas North Parramatta till age 10 as a 5/8 centre, then Parra Marist as a centre/winger, then late teens spent some time with Tonngabbie cats as a backrower. Always lean, then built himself up, played Parra Juniors then moved on. Always tuff as nails never a backward step, and a funny bloke! Had some great times over those early years mate...resting in peace at Orange...

I was a young 16 year old kid working at a sports Centre and Dave Woods the Raider took me under my wing and treated me like a mate. Told me all the inside stories of being a raider and made me laugh non stop. Later on the Gold Coast I met him again as a Gold Coast player , I was the promoter of the boat party . Dave Woods you were larger than life, I still think about you bro , I haven’t forgotten you for taking me under your wing, I still see that moment I was told Jan 2 96. Bro, lucky for me I met you . I haven’t forgotten all your advice. Much ????
