Don still lives within that Old Magpie District today and his Father-in-law was Arthur Turner, an early Director of the Leagues Club at Ashfield. You cannot get much more loyal a clubman than Donny.

Don Malone is my father. His love of the black and white will always be important to dad. Unfortunately dementia has stepped into his life but the memory of football always puts a smile on his face. We have many conversations about his football career. One fond memory was playing at the SCG and his draw string in his shorts broke. As he was leaving the field to grab another pair they threw him the ball and he scored a try. Go Wests.

My name is Robyn Downes nee Rivers , I grew up in Gottenham St. Glebe and I remember Don used to be outside in Gottenham St ( although they lived on Bridge Rd) under his car and he used to Tease us my cousin Rae Mcgarry and I. He was a fair bit older than us . My brother was John Rivers. Glebe was a great place to live and grow up in , those were good old days.
